Building up on previous Murmurations | in Belgium, Germany, Romania, The Netherlands | we are inviting you to join us for a gathering and celebration of inspiration in Lübeck (north of Germany) around Satish and the launch of his book Elegant Simplicity in German.

So this is an invitation for all alumni, wherever you are on your journey, ‘post-Schumacher College’, to gather together on Krumbecker Hof, in Germany from 6 to 9 of April.

The Gathering

We are organising a new gathering to celebrate and strengthen our connections, to meet new friends, exchange ideas and share our gifts and talents.

We dream of having deep conversations, to feel the Schumacher community again, to share our journeys, ideas, gifts & talents, whilst learning from each other. This gathering is to mutually inspire each other, re-membering our Schumacher connection and create magic together.

This will also be a time to share the energy of Satish’s teaching and share experiences with the local community.

We will go on walks, discover the farm together, spend adventure time outdoors, work together (through cooking, chopping firewood, gardening,...) whilst bringing in the Schumacher vibe. We will hold space for facilitated sessions as well as for whatever wants to emerge.

During our time together we will co-create a temporary community, with open space for facilitated sessions and the sharing of practical projects and research. Our time together will also be in opportunity to engage with the local natural and cultural landscape.

The land

The gathering will take place on the Demeter farm, Krumbecker Hof. It is located on the southern edge of “Holstein Switzerland”, about 12 km northwest of Lübeck.

Since 1991 the community of Krumbecker Hof have been working for a change towards a life-sustaining and flourishing world and for the well-being of all living beings.

The land of Krumbecker Hof has been owned for 600 years by the Heilig-Geist-Hospital Foundation, a foundation of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. For more than 100 years, the land has been managed by tenants. In 1989, the citizens of the Hanseatic city decided that in the furure, the newly leased agricultural land should be managed exclusively according to the guidelines of organic farming. Thus, beginning in 1991, the current tenant Gerhard Moser, has converted the land to organic farming. First according to the Naturland guidelines, and from 2004 he converted to biodynamic farming according to Demeter guidelines.

Food:

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be vegetarian, ecologically grown and prepared by Valentine & Valentine. We will also support as a community in the caring of each other and the spaces hosting us.

Accommodation:

Accommodation will be provided in the houses and Bauwagen on Krumbecker Hof.

Pricing

We do not have any external funding for this gathering and as such we need to cover all the costs as a community. We predict that with between 8 -15 people the actual cost of the gathering will be 235€ per person (covering accommodation, food, Satish’s travelling costs, organisation and pick up and drop off).

We are keen that everyone be included regardless of financial means, so we tiered the registration price. The lowest price needs someone else’s contribution to cover your costs; the middle price covers costs, and the top tier price helps with someone else’s costs. If you are able to contribute more then you’re supporting the participation of others with less financial means. Please talk to us about engaging in some form of exchange, instead or as well as a financial contribution, if this will make itmore possible for you to join.
